Fibromyalgia (FI-BRO-MY-AL-GIA)

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition which consists of widespread joint and muscle pain, alongside other debilitating symptoms such as: fatigue, un-refreshing sleep, memory problems, digestive issues and problems concentrating.

A diagnosis of Fibromyalgia can often leave people feeling helpless and in some cases, extremely isolated. For many, the absence of any Physical abnormality with the presence of such high levels of pain, can cause a large amount of frustration. The pathophysiology of Fibromyalgia is complex and although there is no "cure", there are a number ways in which a Physiotherapist can help to better manage your symptoms and help to improve your overall quality of life.
